Raszagol was a black and death metal project that originated out of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa on the continent of Africa.[1] The band's name was derived from StarCraft character Raszagal.[1][2] The band released two albums worth of material before changing their name to Be Not Betrayed in order to take a more serious approach to music.[1]

History Edit

Raszagol was a black and death metal project that Jethro de Beer formed in 2009 when he lived in South Africa. The project released an EP in 2011, titled The Thorn Crown, independently. Jethro would only give them out to people he knew personally, as they were only a few physical copies he printed himself.[1] He would then record a full-length album, titled Merriment, which would also feature Chevy de Beer, Jethro's brother.[1] Jethro would then change the band's name to Be Not Betrayed, as a way to become more serious.[2]
