Flayed Alive is a brutal death metal band that originated in Unionville, Tennessee in the United States. The band was created in 2017 by Zack Plunkett of Abated Mass of Flesh as a solo project. However, a year following the project's creation, Chris Poor (As the Sky Turns Red) joined the project as their official Lead Vocalist. The band has independently recorded and released a studio album, an EP, a single, and a demo.

History[]

Flayed Alive began in 2017 by Zachary Plunkett of Abated Mass of Flesh, Cadaverous Contingency, and Parallax Withering, out of Unionville. The project, taking more of the brutal death metal and grindcore approach, began recording material, beginning with the Repulsive Manifestation demo.[1] The following year, on January 2018, the band released their debut album, The Enigmas of Deistic Torment, independently.[2] Shortly thereafter the album's release, on March 4, 2018, the band added Chris Poor on Vocals.[3] In April - the following month - the band released a new single, "Before the Ground Consumes", debuting Poor on Vocals.[2][4] Later that year, the band released Mortality Strains, their debut EP.[2][4]
