Fearscape are a melodic progressive death metal band that originated out of Wollongong, New South Wales on the continent of Australia. The band originally was created in 2000, consisting of Vocalist Matt Brown, Guitarist Nick Trajanovski, Bassist Phil Bloomfield, and Drummer Andrew Shea.
History[]
Fearscape originated out of Wollongong, New South Wales on the continent of Australia in the year 2000.[1][2] The band began with the lineup of Vocalist Matthew Brown, Guitarist Nick Trajanovski, Bassist Phil Bloomfield, and Drummer Andrew Shea.[1] However, Trajanovski departed from the band in 2002, with his position being taken over by Peter Willmott. With the new lineup, the band recorded their debut demo, Detonator.[1][3]
In 2004, the band recorded and released their debut album, Sleeping in Light, through their label, Rowe Productions, a label owned by Steve Rowe of Mortification.[4] In 2005, Howard Holt briefly joined the band but quickly exited thereafter.[1] Shea departed from the band in 2006, being replaced by Paul Dimitrievich.[1] With Dimitrievich's induction, the band recorded their sophomore album, Scent of Divine Blood, which would be released independently.[1][5]
In 2009, the band released a single titled "Nightmare Hymn". Shortly after it's release, however, Dimitrievich departed from the band. Jayson Sherlock would take his place for a few live performances and Allan Butt would join on Guitar as well. The band is currently on hiatus.[1]
