Dysfunctional Rotout, originally known as Xantravor, was a deathcore and grindcore project, created by the Plunkett brothers, Matthew and Zachary. The project began out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee in the United States in 2007. However, by 2009, the project had disbanded.

History Edit

Dysfunctional Rotout began in 2007 under the name of Xantravor, releasing a demo, with the lineup of Matthew and Zachary Plunkett before switching to Dysfunctional Rotout in 2008.[1] Matt, switching over from Vocals to Drums, while Zack took over Vocals, Guitars, and Bass, the band began writing several releases, including two demos, simply titled Demo and The Devouring Feed, a single cover of the Goosebumps theme song, and a studio album, titled The Three Chapters of a Blissful Grace. All the releases came out in 2009, independently.[1][2]

In 2010, the band released a split album, between themselves, Dead Risen, and Hell Bovine, titled Cow Rot.[1][2][3] Once the split was released, the band released an EP, titled A Silence Apocalypse.[4] By the end of 2010, the band disbanded, with both Matt and Zack forming other projects or performing in preexisting projects, including Willow Mount, Essence of Immortality, and Cryptic Rising.
