History Edit

A Thousand Times Repent began in 2004 between Vocalist Darsen Avery, Guitarists Chris Dowd, Chris Van Valkenburg, and Nate Ledford, Bassist Blake Williams, and Drummer Shannon Hill.[1] The band recorded their debut EP in 2007, titled Virtue Has Few Friends.[4] In 2008, the band signed with Tribunal Records.[5]

Following their signing with Tribunal Records, the band re-released their EP with new artwork, with the EP being remixed and remastered by Jamie King.[2] Following its release, Williams departed from the band, with his position being filled by Jeremy Hopkins of To Bow or To Burn.[6] In 2010, Valkenburg departed from the band as well. By the end of 2011, Hill departed, which resulted in the band eventually disbanding due to the inability to find a new drummer.[7]

In later years, their music would be mentioned in an article about the Emanuel Church shooter, due to the person of interests' Myspace page which had a song of the band's featured, unknown to the band.[8][9]
